Manav Sangrahalaya is one of the best museums in the world – Dr H Lidia Guzy

A three day long national workshop on “Anthropology and Museum” started today at the conference hall of Rock Art Exhibition of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya. The national workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Prof Vinay Kumar Shrivastava (Head, Deptt. of Anthropology, DU) and special guest, Dr H Lidia Guzy (Eminent Anthropologist and Director, India Study Centre, National University of Ireland) with Director, IGRMS, Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri.
In his address Director, Manav Sanghralaya said “It is matter of joy that today with us Dr H Lidia Guzy is present here, she is one of the anthropologists who has presented India in front of the world as the pioneer of New Museum Movement. In her leadership, The India Study Centre of National University of Ireland they are working for different kinds of issues in relation to Asia as such and India in a focused way”.
Presenting the inaugural address, Dr Lidia said “A unique quality of India is that is has the highest population of indigenous people. Incredible work is being done here for conserving the culture. IGRMS is one of the finest museum in the world and pioneer of new museum movement”.

In her leadership, The India Study Centre of National University of Ireland they are working for different kinds of issues in relation to Asia as such and India in a focused way”Teachers from anthropology departments from various Universities of India are participating in this National Workshop.
